5. INSTALLATION
Follow the procedure described below to avoid damaging the pump.

Arrows on the pump base show the direction of liquid flow
through the pump.
Page 21 shows:
- Base dimension
- Pipe connection
- Diameter and position of foundation bolts
The pump can be installed vertically and horizontally. Make
sure that the cooling fan of the motor reaches an adequate
cold air supply; however, the motor must never fall below the
horizontal plane.
To minimise possible pump noise, it is advisable to mount
expansion joints on either side of the pump and anti-vibration
mounts between the foundation and the pump.
Isolation valves should be installed on both sides of the pump
to avoid draining the system if the pump needs to be cleaned,
repaired or replaced. The pump should always be protected
against backflow by means of a non-return valve (foot valve).
Install piping in such a way that air blockages are avoided, es-
pecially on the suction side of the pump.
In case of installation where:
- The discharge pipe slopes downwards away from the pump.
- There is a risk of a siphon effect.
A protection against the return of dirty liquids is necessary. A
vacuum valve must be installed close to the pump.
The pump is available for outdoor installation, but adequate
protection is available.
