11. MAINTENANCE

Motors that are not equipped with grease nipples do not require maintenance. Motors fitted with grease
nipples must be lubricated with high temperature lithium based lubricants. See instructions on the fan
cover. In case of seasonal operation (the motor is idle for more than 6 months of the year), it is recom-
mended to lubricate the motor when the pump stops operating.

12. FROST PROTECTION
Pumps that are not used during frosty periods must be drained to prevent damage.

Drain the pump by loosening the vent screw on the pump head and removing the drain plug from the
base. Care must be taken to ensure that escaping water does not cause injury to persons, the engine or
other components. In hot water installations, special attention must be paid to the risk of injury caused
by hot water. Do not tighten the venting screw and replace the drain plug until the pump is used again.

Before replacing the drain plug in the base, unscrew the bypass valve outwards against the stopper. Fill
the drain plug by tightening the large union nut followed by the bypass valve.
