• Do not store any objects or materials in the storage area underneath the appliance which
would block the flow of combustion air to the bottom of the firebox.
• Do not use a grill without an ash tray.
• Do not attempt to remove the ash drawer while it contains hot coals or while grilling.
Do not remove any ash until all charcoal has burned through, is completely extinguished and
the grill has cooled.
• Always place charcoal in the charcoal grate. Do not place charcoal directly on the bottom of
the firebox.
• Do not wear loose sleeved clothing when lighting or using the barbecue.
• Use long-handled barbecue tools and oven mitts to prevent burns and splashes. Use protective
gloves when handling hot components.
• Do not use the barbecue in strong winds.
• Never touch the cooking or charcoal grids, ashes, charcoal or the barbecue to see if they are
hot.
• When opening the lid, keep hands, face and body at a safe distance from hot steam and flame
flare-ups. Make sure the lid is pushed all the way open. If the lid is not fully open, it may fall back
and cause injury.
• Do not use water to prevent flare-ups or extinguish charcoal.
• Extinguish charcoal when you have finished cooking. Close the lid and ventilation to smother the
flames.
• Do not dump hot coals where they can be stepped on or create a fire hazard. Never dump ash
or coals before they are completely extinguished. Do not store the barbecue until the ashes and
coals are completely extinguished.
• This barbecue is not designed to heat and must never be used as a stove.
• Covering the inside of the barbecue with aluminium foil will obstruct the air flow. Instead, use a
drip tray to catch the gravy from dripping meat during indirect grilling.
Intended use
This appliance is a mobile barbecue for outdoor use. It is intended for grilling, roasting, roasting and
baking food in a private environment.
The appliance is not intended for commercial use.
Any other use or modification of the appliance is considered improper and may cause significant
hazards.
Grilling
1. Place up to 2.0 kg of charcoal on the charcoal grill or in a charcoal starter.
2. Light the charcoal and wait until it burns strongly.
3. Spread the coals evenly on the charcoal grid and place the cooking grids on the fire.
4. Let the charcoal burn with the lid open until it is covered with ashes (approx. 20 min.)
5. Place food on the cooking grids and close the lid if required.
6. Check the food regularly. Use a meat thermometer to make sure the food is food is fully cooked
before removing it.
CAUTION
Fat fires
Do not use water on a greasy fire. This can cause bodily harm. If the appliance is not cleaned re-
gularly, a grease fire may occur that can damage the product. Follow the instructions for general
cleaning of the appliance to prevent grease fires. The best way to prevent grease fires is to clean
the appliance regularly.
Add charcoal
Warning!
Never add charcoal lighter fluid to hot or even warm coals, as a backfire/flare may occur which
could cause serious burns.
To keep the heat constant over a longer period of time, it may be necessary to add charcoal and/
or wood.
1. Carefully open the lid.
2. Wear oven mitts and carefully remove the grill grates. Place it on a non-flammable surface near
the appliance.
3. Stand back and use long-handled cooking utensils to lightly brush aside the ashes on hot coals.
