INSTALLATION
STEP 1: INSTALLATION OF THE 3-WAY VALVE
WARNINGS
The 3-way valve has a 3/8" thread diameter and can be converted to 1/2" using the
1/2" adapter supplied.
1. Locate the cold water supply shut-off valve un-
der the sink and close it.
2. Open the sink tap to release the remaining
pressure in the cold water line. Make sure
that the pressure has been released before
proceeding to the next step. Have a bucket
ready to catch any water left in the water line.
3. Use an adjustable spanner to unscrew the cold
water line from the water supply shut-off valve.
4. Wrap the threads of the 3-way valve with
thread sealant tape.
5. Remove the thread sealing tape from the shut-off
valve of the water supply.
6. Place the medium rubber gasket on the water
supply shut-off valve and screw the 3-way
valve onto the water supply shut-off valve
using an adjustable spanner. Make sure that
the 3-way valve is properly connected. Do
not over-tighten the connections, as this may
damage the fittings (Fig. 3).
7. Connect one end of the PE pipe from the tap
water (WHITE) to the 3-way valve by inserting
it into the quick-connect fitting. Secure the PE
pipe with the safety clips. (see the chapter How
to use the quick connectors) (Fig. 4).
8. Wrap the thread sealing tape in a counter-clock-
wise direction around the thread.
9. When wrapping the thread sealing tape, start
from the second tooth of the thread head with
light force and turn the 1st tooth unwound, give
it 8-10 turns.
10. When wrapping the thread seal tape, once it has been tightened, do not allow the
raw thread (screw back) to be removed, otherwise it will have to be re-wrapped
(Fig. 5).
