Operation
Fig. 5-39 Optimization "OP.4"
(first measuring run of tire/rim assembly)
Clamp the wheel on the balancer.
Readjust the wheel such that the valve is exactly
perpendicular to and above the main shaft.
Enter the valve position by pressing menu key F1.
The Optimization "OP.5" screen (Fig. 5-40) is displayed.
Fig. 5-40 Optimization "OP.5"
START is signalled on the screen.
Press the START key.
A measuring run is performed.
The Optimization "OP.6" screen (Fig. 5-41) is displayed.
5.10.5 Continue minimization and
optimization
Fig. 5-41
Optimization "OP.6"
(second measuring run of tire/rim assembly)
From this screen weight minimization is carried out in the
same way as optimization.
Rotate the wheel into marking position following the
arrows.
Provide a single mark on the tire outer side exactly
perpendicular to and above the main shaft.
Confirm by pressing menu key F1
The Optimization "OP.7" screen (Fig. 5-43) is displayed.
Reading H 1
If H 1 (Fig. 5-42) is read out further optimization is not
recommended. In this case the measured data does not
exceed the limit for recommendation of the optimization
program. However, it is possible to continue optimization so
as to improve wheel running conditions even below the limit
value (critical vehicle).
To continue optimization:
Continue as shown on screen Optimization "OP.7"
(Fig. 5-43).
To abort optimization:
Press the STOP key to return to the balancing program
and balance the wheel according to the readings.
