A few terms generally used in digital processes are explained here:
Bps: Bits per second: unit of signal transfer speed, or number of elements transmitted per second. The

Simple Logger
II downloads its data at the rate of 115,200 bps.
Button: physical button on the logger, but may also mean a key on the computer keyboard or a virtual button
in the program of the control panel.
Data logger: device used to sample, digitize, and store electrical quantities (which may represent
temperatures, pressures, or flowrates) over long periods of time without requiring surveillance.
Download: transfer of digital data from the logger to the desktop computer
Hz: Hertz, unit of frequency, or number of cycles per second.
I/O: (input/output): device or connector used to transmit and/or receive digital signals.
Port: name given to a connector used for the transmission and/or reception of digital signals.
Processor: computer component used to calculate and to perform series of instructions.
Recording sequence: is characterized by the rate and the content of the data between the recording
starting and ending times.
Resolution: analogue value equivalent to the low-order bit of a digital value.
Zoom: Possibility of selecting and enlarging a portion of a graphic curve to make it easier to read.
