11. Install the Controller
CAUTION: Risk of Product Damage. The controller is rated to operate in temperatures up to 104°F (40°C). Do not
install near heat sources (such as radiators or under whirlpool surrounds) or in any location where the temperature
may exceed 104°F (40°C).
NOTE: An access panel is required to access the controller after installation.
NOTE: A qualified electrician should install a 120 VAC GFCI electrical outlet, within the stud framing, close to the
controller.
NOTE: Cables are labeled at the controller end. Verify that the cables are oriented correctly.
NOTE: If possible, install the electrical outlet before installing the controller.
NOTE: A 25' (7.6 m) cable is provided to connect the controller to the valve. If the valve is not within 25' (7.6 m) of the
controller, obtain a longer cable or add extension cables.
NOTE: The controller can be placed on a shelf or installed to a vertical surface using the mounting holes.
The controller is designed to fit within a 2x4 stud cavity. The cavity must be free of insulation.
Installation in a Stud Cavity
Install a vertical surface between the studs.
Secure the controller to the vertical surface using the mounting holes.
Install a 120 V GFCI electrical outlet within the stud framing, close to the controller.
NOTE: The power supply should be placed on a horizontal surface. Do not secure the power supply to any surface.
Install a horizontal board to accommodate the power supply. Verify that the cord can be routed to the electrical outlet
without being pinched.
