Timer-Controlled Operation
Sensing Foil Attachment
When
automatic
reverse
or
continuous
repeat playback is desired it is necessary to
use sensing foil to activate the automatic
reverse
or AUTO
REPEAT
function. The
sensing foil must be attached to the outer
surface of the tape, NOT the side of the
tape in contact with the head, and it must
be at the "end" of the tape, not at the
"beginning". It must also be at the end of
the magnetic portion of the tape just before
the nonmagnetic leader tape — NOT at the
end of the leader tape itself.
Record Operation
1. Connect your X-3R and stereo system to
a clock timer as shown in the diagram.
2. Make all the preparations for normal re-
cording, from FM broadcast for example.
(See "Recording" on page 16).
3. Set the clock timer to desired "on" time.
4, Press both the play ( ») and RECORD
buttons on and set power switches of
your X-3R and stereo system "on".
When the selected time arrives, the X-3R
will start recording. If the clock timer is a
multi-time type, the X-3R will record every
time the clock timer supplies power to the
system.
Playback Operation
1. After threading your favorite prerecord-
ed tape, play the tape for a while and
adjust the volume control of your stereo
system for the desired volume level. Re-
wind the tape where you want to start.
2. Set your timer clock for the desired time.
3. Press the play (»)
button and check
that the power switches of your X-3R
and stereo system are "on".
When the selected time arrives, the X-3R
will automatically start playing.
Note: Even if the tape is threaded, if the
right tension arm is not raised, the deck will
not operate under timer control.

Fixation de la pellicule détectrice
Pour utiliser |'inversion automatique ou la
répétition
continue
de la lecture,
il est
nécessaire
d'employer une pellicule détec-
trice pour déclencher la fonction d'inversion
ou de répétition automatique. La pellicule
détectrice doit étre fixée sur la face exté-
rieure de la bande, et NON sur celle en con-
tact avec les tétes, et elle doit se trouver a
la "fin" de la bande et non au "début". Elle
doit se trouver a la fin de la partie magnéti-
que de la bande, NON 4 la fin de |'amorce
elle-méme.
Commande par horloge de programma-
tion
Processus d'enregistrement
1. Connectez votre X-3R et votre chaine
stéréo 4 une horloge de programmation
comme indiqué sur le diagramme.
2. Effectuez les mémes manoeuvres pré-

3. Réglez I'heure de mise en marche sur
\horloge de programmation.
4, Pressez simultanément les touches de
lecture (») et d'enregistrement
(RE-
CORD) et placez les interrupteurs d'ali-
mentation du X-3R et de la chaine sur
"ON".
A I'heure choisie, le X-3R commence a enre-
gistrer. Si votre horloge de programmation
est a programmation multiple, le X-3R peut
enregistrer 4 chaque fois que I'horloge ali-
mente la chaine.
Processus de reproduction
1. Aprés avoir enroulé la bande préenregis-
trée de votre choix, reproduisez-la pen-
dant quelques instants et réglez la com-
mande de volume de votre chaine stéréo
au niveau désiré. Rembobinez la bande
jusqu'a I'endroit ot vous désirez com-
mencer.
2. Réglez votre horloge de programmation
a l'heure voulue.
Pressez la touche de lecture (>) et
vérifiez que les interrupteurs d'alimenta-
tion de la chaine et du X-3R sont bien
sur "ON".
A I'Feure voulue, le X-3R commence auto-
matiquement la reproduction.
Remarque:
La platine ne peut fonctionner
avec
I'horloge si le bras de tension droit
n'est pas correctement soulevé par la bande
enroulée.
