DUBBING THE WHOLE TAPE
When an original tape is dubbed onto another tape rated at the
same recording time, the back side of the recording tape may not
be an exact duplicate of the back side of the original tape.
This is because there are differences in actual recording times
between tapes, since each tape has a bit more time than indicated
on the label. This time varies with each brand.
This unit's STSD function allows you to make exact copies of both
sides of the original tape.

The tapes are rewound to the beginning of their frontsides, and
then recording starts. After the recording of the frontside ends,
the back sides of both tapes will start at the same time as soon
as the longer tape has been reversed (STSD function).
To stop dubbing in the middle
Press the [J button.
¢ Regardless of whether the BO NR indicator is displayedor not, the
Dolby NR system does not affect the recording.
¢ Recording is inhibited if the erasure prevention tab on either side
of the tape is broken off.
¢ ifthe leader segment of the dubbing tape is longer thanthat of the
original tape, recording on the back side may stop midway
through the recording.
In this case, dub each side manually
following the procedure in "RECORDING FROM TAPE TOTAPE
MANUALLY?" (See page 56).
* During dubbing, noise may be recorded on the tape if a TVis on.
If that happens, turn off the TV or move it away from ihe unit.
