The balance cal also be programmed for operation as:
STANDARD BALANCE
PIECE-COUNTING BALANCE
PERCENTAGE BALANCE
Select the function and confirm with the ON-OFF key.
Select the desired unit or operating mode, using the MODE key.
Confirm the unit/function selected with the ON-OFF key.
Now the balance is operating with the new unit or function.
9.1.1. STANDARD BALANCE FUNCTION
When not operating as piece-counting or percentage balance the keys act in normal mode.
The key MODE (activated for less than 1 second) switches between gram and the second unit.
If a measuring unit different from gram (main operating unit) is selected, the number of decimal places is
changed and the resolution of the balance (total number of divisions) is reduced, so that the last digit always
exhibits a 1 count increment.
When a second unit is selected the balance automatically stores the information so that, even if the power is
removed, the selection is retained and, when the balance is switched on, the selected unit will be active.
9.1.2. PIECE COUNTING FUNCTION
The function is selected as above with the menu item PCS.
A new reference may be acquired pressing the MODE key for more than 1 second.
The display will show 5 PCS blinking: this is the first sample acquisition quantity.
Pressing the MODE key for less than 1 second, other sample quantities, 10 PCS, 20 PCS, 50 PCS and 100
PCS, are selected.
Now the reference quantity may be weighted, pressing the ON-OFF key, when the stable symbol lights on
the display, the the new reference value is acquired and the balance starts to display the piece count.
Note:
If the weight of the sample is too small, acquisition is interrupted and the message "PCS ERROR" appears
until the TARE key is activated.
9.1.3. PERCENTAGE FUNCTION
The function is selected as above with the menu item %.
A new reference may be acquired pressing the MODE key for more than 1 second.
The display will show – 100 – blinking.
Now the reference quantity may be weighted, pressing the ON-OFF key, when the stable symbol lights on
the display, the the new reference value is acquired and the balance starts to display the weight as a
percentage of the reference acquired.
Notes:
If the weight of the sample is too small, acquisition is inhibited and the message "PCS ERROR" appears until
the TARE key is activated.
The balance can measure percentages up to 500 % of the reference if the full scale is not exceeded.
Example:
If a reference weight of 180 g is acquired the display shows 100.00 %. Now, if a weight of 35 g is placed on
the pan the display shows 19,44 %. If the weight is increased up to 95 g, the display will show 52,77 %.
Now, if the weight is increased more than 900 g the display will show the message OVER PERC.
This message means that whole percentage function capacity (500 %) has been exceeded.
Pressing the key MODE, you can switch from main unit to percentage unit to know the weight value loaded
on the pan.
To go out from OVER PERC condition, remove the weight from the pan.
