• Clean the outer part and accessories with a damp
cloth, then dry with a non-abrasive dry cloth. Do not
use products that contain ammonia or abrasives.
• Do not spray liquids into the hollows in the body panels.
• The appliance must undergo the cleaning and mainte-
nance tasks explained in this manual, with the frequen-
cy indicated.
• For more information about the cleaning of the appli-
ance, refer to ch.8.
IN THE EVENT OF A LONG PERIOD OF NON-
USE
If the appliance is to be left unused for a long time (e.g. if
the business remains closed for several days):
1. carry out the cleaning tasks that require the appliance
to be powered (see ch.8);
2. turn off the appliance and then the main switch;
3. carry out the cleaning tasks that do not require the
appliance to be powered (see ch.8);
4. turn off the water supply tap.
IN THE EVENT OF A FAULT
• If the appliance is malfunctioning, switch it off and turn
off the main switch, then contact the technical support
service.
• If the power cable gets damaged, switch off the appli-
ance and order a replacement from the technical sup-
port service.
• If repairs are needed, always contact the technical sup-
port service and request the use of original spare parts.
Failure to respect these indications may jeopardise the
condition and safety of the appliance and therefore an-
nul the warranty.
IMPROPER USE OF THE APPLIANCE
• Any form of use of the appliance that is not envisaged in
this manual must be considered incorrect and therefore
dangerous.
• The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any
injury or damage caused by improper, incorrect or un-
reasonable use.
• Failure to respect the indications given in this manual
may jeopardise the condition and safety of the appli-
ance and therefore annul the warranty.

2.1 AIM OF THIS MANUAL
The appliance described in this Use and Maintenance
manual is the M40 coffee-making machine, available in
the following versions:
• DT2
• DT3
• DT4

This manual provides information reserved for personnel
authorised to use the appliance (standard use and main-
tenance).
2.2 HOW TO READ THIS MANUAL
The manual is divided into chapters and paragraphs. Each
paragraph is a sub-level of the relative chapter. References
to titles or paragraphs are indicated with the abbreviation
ch. or par., followed by the relative number. For example:
"ch.2" or "par.2.1".
The figures in this manual are progressively numbered in
relation to the specific chapter - e.g. figure 1.3 is the third
figure of the first chapter. The references to the figures
are indicated with the abbreviation Fig., followed by the
relative number. For example: "Fig.1.3". The components
indicated in the figures are referred to with letters or num-
bers, depending on the case in question. For example,
a reference to component C in figure 2 of chapter 3 will
appear as: "see C - Fig.3.2", or simply "(C - Fig.3.2)".
