AUTOMATIC SWITCH-ON AND
SWITCH-OFF
The appliance can be set to switch on and off at pro-
grammed times. For more information, refer to par.7.1.3.1.
In automatic on/off mode, when the appliance is switched
off the brightness of the display is reduced and cup-warm-
er plate heating is deactivated.
NB: When the appliance is switched off via the
main switch, automatic switch-on is not possi-
ble.
6.1.2
SWITCH-OFF WITH ENERGY SAVING
MODE
During the switch-off phase, the appliance can be set in
energy saving mode. This means the resistor is not com-
pletely deactivated and the water heater pressure can be
kept at 0.2 bar.
NB: If the day following an energy saving
switch-off is a day of closure, the appliance
switches off completely for 24 hours and re-
turns to a constant 0.2 bar water heater pres-
sure at the end of the day of closure.
6.2
COFFEE DISPENSING
NB: If the appliance has remained unused for
more than 1 hour, run a no-load dispensing of
about 100 ml before activating a proper dis-
pensing. After 8 hours of non-use, run no-load
dispensing cycles for about 1 minute on each
group.
• Remove the portafilter (10 - Fig. 4.1) from the appliance
and eliminate the grounds from the previous coffee.
• In the case of a portafilter with a 1-way spout and
conical filter: fill the portafilter with a dose of ground
coffee.

In the case of a portafilter with a 2-way spout and cylin-
drical filter: fill the portafilter with two doses of ground
coffee.
• Press the ground coffee evenly in the filter with the aid
of the grinder tamper or the tamper supplied with the
appliance itself.
• Remove any ground coffee residue from the edge of
the filter.
• Insert the portafilter (10 - Fig. 4.1) in the dispensing
group, tightening it firmly.
• In the case of a portafilter with a 1-way spout and
conical filter: position a cup underneath the dispenser
group.
In the case of a portafilter with a 2-way spout and
cylindrical filter: position two cups underneath the
dispenser group.
• Press the dose dispensing button corresponding to the
required dose (
