9. Glass Shade Installation
9.2
The finial nut, hex nut, and rubber washer are
preassembled to the bottom of the light kit.
Unscrew the finial nut and remove the hex nut and rubber
washer (Figure 46).
Keep these items on top of the ladder for reassembly after
the glass shade is installed.
9.3
Position the glass shade onto the light kit threaded
nipple at the bottom of the light kit assembly. Push it up
until it is resting against the upper cover plate.
Be sure the glass shade is evenly seated against the light
kit upper cover plate (Figure 47).
Hold the glass in position while re-installing the previously
removed rubber washer and hex nut onto the threaded
nipple. Turn the hex nut with your fingers until it is as tight
as possible. Do not use a wrench to tighten the nut, the
glass could break if too much force is used.
