3.4 Troubleshooting
3.4.1 Starter kit failure
The failure in the starter kit can manifest itself in different ways depen-
ding on the evolution of the problem, this problem is commonly diag-
nosed by sound:
• If the fault is in its early stages of evolution the compressor will make
an unusually long and noisy start-up sound before stabilizing, this is
due to the operation of the compressor, the
compressor has three coils and one of them is the starter coil which is
the larger and louder, the wear coil will take longer to transition to the
working coil, resulting in the previously described sound.
• If the fault has a severe evolution the starter coil in the compressor
will not be able to transition to the work coil and will get stuck in the
starter coil, which will produce a loud, loud and consistent sound, in
turn the coil As the starter coil is the largest and strongest, it is the one
that consumes the most energy, so it will increase the electrical supply
of the compressor, which will cause the temperature of the compres-
sor to increase, thus triggering the thermal protection of the
compressor, turning it off suddenly.
