PRECAUTIONS TO REDUCE KICKBACK
! WARNING: Kickback can cause a dangerous loss of
control over the chain saw. The result can be serious
or fatal injury to the operator or bystanders. Always be
vigilant. Spinning kickback and choking kickback are
the main operational hazards of chainsaws and the
main cause of most injuries.
Kickback can be avoided with proper care and proper
cutting technique.
Kickback can occur when the tip of the guide bar
touches the material being cut or when the wood
pinches or chokes the saw chain in the cut.
The contact of the tip with the wood can in some
cases cause a lightning-quick reaction - shooting the
guide bar upwards and back towards the operator.
Choking the saw chain along the bottom of the guide
bar can pull the saw away from the operator. Choking
the saw chain on top of the guide bar can push the
saw toward the operator.
Do not rely solely on the saw's safety equipment. As
a chainsaw user, there are a few steps you must keep
in mind that will allow you to work with your chainsaw
without injury or accident.
With a basic understanding of recoil, you can reduce
and eliminate its risks and surprises. Sudden surpris-
es contribute to possible accidents and subsequent
injuries.
Hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands. With the
engine running, keep your right hand on the rear
handle and your left hand on the front handle. Hold
the handle firmly with all of your fingers that wrap
around the handle of the saw. A firm grip will help
reduce kickback and allow you to control the entire
saw.
- Make sure that the place where you are cutting is
free of any obstacles. Do not allow the tip of the guide
bar to touch a log, branch or any obstacle that could
be hit during saw operation.
Cut at high engine speeds.
Do not cut above shoulder height.
Follow the instructions for sharpening the chain and
maintaining the chainsaw.
When replacing, use only bars and chains specified
by the manufacturer or corresponding recommended
accessories.

recoil, thanks to specially designed limiting teeth and
safety elements.

protects the operator's left hand in case it slips from
the front handle while the saw is running.

ce the risk of injury from kickback by stopping a
