Stop the engine before servicing. Put the engine on a level surface and remove
the spark plug cap to prevent the engine from starting. Never run your engine in a
poorly ventilated room or other enclosed area, be sure to keep good ventilation in
working area. The exhaust from the engine may contain poisonous CO, inhalation
can cause shock, unconsciousness and even death.
1. Engine oil change (4-stroke engine)
Drain the used oil while the engine is warm. Warm oil drains quickly and completely.
1. Put a container under the engine to collect the used oil; Remove the fill cap, dipstick, and
drain bolt.
2. Let it drain completely; replace the drain bolt and tighten it securely. Please dispose of
engine oil responsibly that does not harm the environment. We suggest that you take the
oil in a sealed container to your green point or to a recycling center. Do not see it with the
garbage, or throw it on the ground or pour it down the pipes.
3. With the pump on a level surface, fill the reservoir to the upper limit with the recommended
oil.
4. Replace the dipstick and tighten it.
Used engine oil may cause skin cancer if repeatedly left in contact with the skin
for prolonged periods. Although this is unlikely unless you handle used oil on a
daily basis, it is still advisable to thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water
as soon as possible after handling used oil
Motor oil is a factor that affects the performance and service life of the motor. Oils without
detergents or oils for 2-stroke engines are not recommended as they will damage the engine.
Recommended oil: Oil for 4-stroke gasoline engines, of API service grade SF or
SAE10W-30 that is equivalent to SG grade. Of course, you can also choose it according
to the local temperature.
Recommended range of use of the pump: -5ºC - 40ºC.
3. Air Filter Service
A dirty suction air filter reduces air flow to the carburetor which affects engine performance.
If you use the pump in dusty places, clean the air filter more often than indicated in the
maintenance schedule.
NOTE: Never work without an air filter or use one that is damaged. If not, the
engine will deteriorate quickly.
Screw off the butterfly nut down and remove the housing. Screw off the other butterfly nut and
remove the element.
1. Wash the element with home detergents and warm water (or non-flammable or high flash-
point cleansing solvents) and dry it up.
2. Soak it in clean engine oil until it is saturated. Squeeze out excess oil.
3. Clean the lower body of the air filter, housing, and rubber cushion. Prevent dusts from
entering into the ail path of the carburetor.
4. Reinstall air filter and screw on the butterfly nut.
