4. Spark Plug Service
We recommend using Groway spark plugs.
Wrong model can result in engine damage.
1. Remove the plug from the plug and clean the
accumulated dirt around the base of the plug.
2. Use a spark plug wrench to remove the spark plug.
3. Measure the gap between the electrodes with a gauge.
Check that the electrode or the insulator is not damaged;
if so, replace the spark plug. If necessary, correct the
electrode gap by carefully bending it. The distance must
be between: 0.70-0.80 mm.
4. Check that the spark plug gasket is in good condition. To
avoid damaging the cylinder head thread, carefully thread
the spark plug in by hand.
5. After the spark plug has touched the gasket, tighten it with a spark plug wrench and
compress the washer.
If you are using a new spark plug, give it an additional ½ turn after compressing the gasket.
If you replace the old spark plug, give it only an extra 1/8 to ¼ turn.
6. Replace the spark plug cap.
11. STORAGE
1. Remove the prime plug and drain plug, flush the chamber with clean water, and replace the
prime plug and drain bolt. After stopping the engine, allow it to cool for at least half an hour.
Rinse all exterior surfaces and wipe clean.
2. Remove drain plug of the carburetor and sediment
cup, then open the fuel lever. Completely drain the
fuel from the carburetor and fuel tank, then install
the sediment cup and drain plug back and tighten
them.

3. Change the engine oil.
4. Remove the spark plug and pour a tablespoon (5-10 cc) of clean oil into the cylinder. Pull the
starter several times to distribute the oil through the cylinder and replace the spark plug.
5. Gently pull the starter lever until resistance is felt. At this time, the intake and exhaust valves
are closed to limit the entry of moisture into the cylinder head. Gently push the starter lever
back into place.
