Feature description
The breathing system for vehicle cabins (Cabin Breathing
System 1000 - CBS 1000) consists of a mounting plate that
serves as a mount for a device cylinder for the breathing air
supply. There are four breathing air extraction points mounted
to the mounting plate, which are supplied with breathing air
from the device cylinder via the pressure reducer unit.
Suitable personal protective equipment (PPE), such as
respirators with lung demand valves, can be connected via the
extraction point.
The product is offered as a basic unit consisting of a mounting
plate with extraction points and a pressure reducer unit. In
addition, it is possible to order the basic unit with lung demand
valves and a half or full face mask in one set. It is
recommended to store PPE in mask bags until use.
In order to make sure that no additional fire loads are
introduced into the vehicle cabin, pneumatic components and
cylinder straps were used that are type-tested according to
DIN EN 137. Furthermore, the mask bags of the optionally
available PPE sets are made of permanently flame-retardant
material which has been tested according to DIN EN 470-1,
DIN EN 531, DIN EN 533 and DIN EN ISO 11611.

Intended use
The CBS 1000 may only be used for the simultaneous
breathing air supply of up to four consumers. The consumers
must be designed for a pressure range of 6-8 bar and the
maximum flow rate of all consumers in total must not exceed
700 L/min.
The duration of use for completely filled device cylinders,
according to DIN EN 402, is:
6.8 L device cylinder - 10 minutes
9 L device cylinder - 15 minutes
Only device cylinders with the following specifications may be
used:
Suitable for breathing air according to DIN EN 12021
between 6 L and 9 L cylinder volume
maximum filling pressure 300 bar
Cylinder diameter 140 to 180 mm
Cylinder body length (without valve) 510 to 570 mm
no excess flow valve in the cylinder valve or with an excess
flow valve that only triggers flow above 700 L/min
Cylinder valve with G 5/8 connection according to
DIN EN 144-2
Cylinder valve with a minimum flow of 700 L/min at 50 bar
cylinder pressure
Only PPE that has the following specification may be used:
Suitable for breathing air according to DIN EN 12021
6 - 8 bar
Breathing air quick connect couplings:
- Parker/Rectus 95 series,
- Cejn 341 series
approved according to DIN EN 14593 or DIN EN 137

Limitations on intended use
Any use other than that mentioned in the "Intended use"
chapter shall be regarded as improper usage. The following in
particular is not permitted:
Using consumers that are not approved for the pressure
range of 6-8 bar.
Using too many consumers that in total exceed the
maximum flow rate of 700 L/min
Using the product without prior assembly
Using the product with media other than breathing air
according to DIN EN 12021
The device cylinder may only be connected to the
extraction points using the supplied connection hose with
pressure reducer
Using device cylinders other than the specified device
cylinders
Using Y-pieces or other components, such as extension
tubes, except lung demand valves with mask
Failure to comply with these restrictions will jeopardise the safe
operation of the system.

Installation
Requirements for the installation location
The following parameters must be taken into account when
selecting the installation location:
In a vertical installation position, the bottom of the mounting
plate must face downwards.
In a horizontal installation position, the bottom of the
mounting plate must face in the direction of travel.
It must be possible to couple the extraction couplings
without any problems, without falling below the bending
radii of the hoses or kinking the hoses.
The connecting hose between the device cylinder and the
extraction points must be able to be coupled without any
problems, without falling below the bending radius of the
hose or kinking the hose.
It must be possible to operate the cylinder valve without
any problems when it is installed.
It must be possible to insert and change the device cylinder
without any problems.
It must be possible to read the pressure gauge during
commissioning and operation.
It must be possible to adjust, open and close the cylinder
straps for securing the device cylinder without any
problems.
No persons or objects may damage the product or the
connected accessories during operation. Select the
installation location so that it is not in the direct range of
movement.
