Pump tube
(outer components)
13 Install and seat seal (29) (lips first) into
bottom of retainer (28).
14 Install and seat bearing (30) into bottom
of retainer.
15 Install gasket (31) onto top of
extension (32).
16 Screw extension with threadlocker
(gasket end first) into bottom of retainer.
Do not tighten at this time.
17 Install gasket (14) into top of retainer.
18 Install and seat bearing (27) (small
diameter first) and additional gasket (14)
into top of retainer.
19 Screw tube (26) with threadlocker into
top of retainer. Do not tighten at this
time.
20 Install and seat gasket (14)
into adapter (13).
21 Screw tube with threadlocker into
adapter. Do not tighten at this time.
22 Install o-ring (12) onto adapter.
23 Apply grease to piston (25) to aid in
installation.
NOTE
Install outer component onto inner with
care. Damage to seal (29) can occur.
24 Install outer pump tube components
onto inner pump tube components.
Use a slight twisting motion to pass seal
and at same time thread adapter into
base of air motor.
NOTE
Make sure flange portion of adapter
seats flush against base of air motor.
Should a gap exist, inspect components
of air motor packing group.
25 Install stop washer (33) into extension.
26 Install and seat seal (34) (heel end first)
into valve body (35).
27 Install valve body (seal first) onto
rod (38). Make sure valve body seats
properly in extension.
28 Install follower tube (41) over outer tube.
29 Install o-ring (42) onto primer body (43).
30 Install and seat valve seat (36) (large
diameter first) into primer body.
31 Install and seat gasket (14)
into primer body.
32 Screw primer body onto extension.
33 Place a large wrench or other suitable
tool into slot of primer body. Tighten all
components securely. Crush all gaskets.
34 Extend rod (38) from primer body.
Apply air to motor as necessary.
35 Install primer disc (39) onto rod.
36 Gently screw nut (40) onto rod. Use an
appropriate size punch in hole of rod to
prevent rotation. Do not overtighten.
37 For model 8549-B1 only:
37.1 Install bung adapter (44)
onto follower tube.

Pressure control
38 Screw fitting (9) with threadlocker and
elbow (6) with threadlocker into pressure
control (5). Tighten each component
securely. Make sure to orient
components properly.
39 Screw air connector (7) with
threadlocker into elbow. Tighten air
connector securely.
40 Screw adapter (4) with threadlocker into
air motor (3). Tighten adapter securely.
41 Screw pressure control (5) onto adapter
with threadlocker.
42 Screw adapter (10) into air motor.
Tighten adapter securely. Make sure to
orient adapter properly.
NOTE
Tighten pressure control just short of
vertical. This allows assembly of
tube (11).
43 Screw additional fitting (9) into adapter.
Tighten fitting securely. Make sure to
orient fitting properly.
44 Position tube (11) into each fitting.
45 Secure tube by rotating pressure control
to vertical. Tighten fittings to tube.
46 Install air coupler (8) onto air connector.
