- SUBCODES
Subcodes are the signals recorded on DAT to-
gether with the audio signals. They are used for
searching and programmed playback.
This unit is capable of writing the following
subcodes.
¢ Absolute time
e Start ID
e Program number
Absolute time
Absolute time indicates the elapsed recording time
from the beginning of the tape.
Start ID
Start ID indicates the beginning of a track. The
unit searches for the selected track referring to
the start ID. You can encode a start ID at any de-
sired position as the beginning of a track, or erase
the start ID which is already encoded.
Program number
Program number indicates the order of the tracks
and is encoded with the start ID, consecutively
from 1. However, if the start ID is added or de-
leted, the order sometimes may not be consecu-
tive. In such a case, rewrite the program numbers
for correct program number sequence.
