Encoding Start IDs During
Playback (Rehearsal Function)
Before you start
¢ Close the erasure prevention tab on the cas-
sette. (See page 22.)
¢ Operate during playback as follows.
1 Press the ID WRITE/PROGRAM button
at the position where you want to en-
code a start ID.
"rH" (rehearsal mode display) appears on the
display window.
The unit repeatedly plays back a portion of tape
for about 3 seconds. (Rehearsal mode)
2 If the position you want to encode a
start ID does not exist in the portion,
shift the portion by pressing the I<
REW button or the >>! FF button.
The portion shifts 0.38 seconds backward by
pressing the 4
REW button once, and 0.3
seconds forward by pressing the »P] FF but-
ton.

3 Press the ID WRITE/PROGRAM button
where you want to encode the start ID.
"START ID" flashes and a start ID is encoded
for 9 seconds in SP mode or 18 seconds in LP
mode from the position where the button is
pressed.
« Encode a start. ID more than 18 seconds in SP
mode or 36 seconds in LP mode after the start
ID of the previous track.
e If you press the ID WRITE/PROGRAM
button
in the position where a start ID is already en-
coded, a new start ID cannot be encoded. Erase
the start ID which is already encoded before en-
coding a new start ID:
