3.4. Power tool use and care
a. Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your applica-
tions. The correct power tool will do the job better and more safely at the rate for
which it was designed.
b. Do not use the power tool if the on/off switch is defective. Any power tool
that a switch cannot control is dangerous and must be repaired.
c. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery from the
power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or
storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting
the power tool accidentally.
d. Store power tools out of children's reach. Do not allow anyone unfamiliar
with the power tool or these instructions to operate them. Power tools are
dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, broken parts, and
any other condition affecting the power tool's operation. If damaged,
have the power tool repaired before use. Poorly maintained power tools
cause many accidents.
f. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with
sharp edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
g. Use the power tool, accessories, tool bits, etc., according to these instruc-
tions, considering the working conditions and the work to be performed.
Using power tools for operations other than those intended could result in a haz-
ardous situation.
3.5. Battery tool use and care
a. Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger
suitable for one type of battery may pose risks of fire when used in another.
b. Use power tools only with specifically designated batteries. Using any oth-
er batteries may pose risks of injury and fire.
c. When the battery is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects like
paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects that
can make a connection from one terminal to another. A short circuit on the
battery terminals may cause burns or a fire.
d. Liquid may leak from the battery; avoid contact under harsh conditions.
If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts the eyes,
seek medical help. Liquid leaking from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
e. Do not use a battery or appliance that is damaged or modified. Damaged
or modified batteries may have unpredictable behavior, resulting in fire,
explosion, or risk of injury.
f. Do not expose a battery or appliance to fire or excessive temperatures.
Exposure to fire or temperatures above 60°C may cause explosions.
3.6. Service
a. Have a qualified repair person service your power tool using only identi-
cal replacement parts. It will ensure its safety.
4. Symbols
The label on your power tool may include the following symbols. The symbols and
their definitions are as follows:

5. Important Safety Instructions for Battery Chargers
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS: This manual contains important safety instructions for
battery chargers. Before using the charger, read all instructions on the charger,
the battery, and the product using the battery.

Shock hazard. Do not allow any liquid to get inside the
charger.
CAUTION!
Burn hazard. Only charge JACTO batteries designed
for your tool to reduce the risk of injuries. Other
types of batteries may burst, causing personal injury
and damage.
Under certain conditions, the charger can be shorted
by foreign material when plugged into the power
supply. Foreign materials of a conductive nature,
such as steel wool, aluminum foil, or any buildup of
metallic particles, should be kept away from charger
contacts. Always unplug the charger from the power
supply when the battery is not charging.
DO NOT charge the battery with chargers other
than those in this manual. The charger and battery
are specifically designed to work together.
These chargers are not intended for use other than
charging designated JACTO lithium rechargeable
batteries. Any other uses may result in a risk of fire,
electric shock, or electrocution.
Do not expose the charger to rain or snow.
Pull by the plug rather than the cord when discon-
necting the charger. It will reduce the risk of damage
to the electric plug and cord.
Make sure the cord is where no one will step on it,
trip over it, or otherwise suffer any damage or stress.
Do not use an extension cord unless it is absolutely
necessary. Using improper extension cords could result
in fire risk, electric shock, or electrocution.
An extension cord must have an adequate wire size
(AWG or American Wire Gauge) for safety. When
using multiple extensions to make up the total length,
ensure each extension contains at least the minimum
wire size. Using an extension cord, use one that is heavy
enough to carry the current the product will draw.
An undersized cord will cause a drop in the electrical
voltage, resulting in loss of power and overheating. The
following table shows the correct gauge depending on
cord length and nominal current on the charger label, as
mentioned in this manual. Use the next broader gauge
if you are not sure.

Do not mount the charger on the wall or permanently
secure it to any surface. The charger is intended for
use on a flat, stable surface (e.g., tabletop or benchtop).
Do not operate the charger with a damaged cord or
plug. Replace immediately.
Do not operate the charger if it has received a sharp
blow, been dropped, or is otherwise damaged. Take
it to an authorized service center.
Do not disassemble the charger. Please take it to
an authorized service center when service or repair is
required. Incorrect reassembly may result in a risk of
electric shock, electrocution, or fire.
