Troubleshooting
II
Even if you think your camera may need repairs, check the
table below first. If your camera still does not function
properly after you have made these checks, bring it to your
nearest Canon service center for repairs.
Problem

1. The battery
check mark
doesn't
appear
1 The batteries have
expired
2 The batteries are
inserted with the
wrong polarity
1 Change the batteries
2 Reinsert the batteries

2. The shutter
doesn't
release
The main switch is
turned OFF

: The film is not
inserted properly
i A finished roll of film
is loaded in the
camera
i Turn the main switch
ON

4 Remove the film and
load a new roll.
3 Pictures are
blurry
When the shutter
was released, the AF
light receptor was
covered
2 During self-timer
photography, you
pressed the Shutter
Release Mode button
while standing
immediately in front
of the camera
The camera was
moved when the
shutter button was
pushed (Camera
shake)
Make sure the AF
light receptor is not
covered by hair,
fingers, etc
Make sure you are
not standing directly
in front of the
camera
Press the shutter
button lightly
4 "E" is blinking
in the LCD
panel
This is a self-diagnosis
display when reset is
necessary
Press the main switch (if
the display remains,
take the camera in for
repairs).
