Requirements and conditions
General requirements
Before assembly of the Porsche Wallbox, the follow-
ing requirements must be met and verified.
–
The Wallbox must be installed by qualified per-
sonnel (electrician).

Calculate the maximum electrical load of the in-
stallation to determine the maximum current the
Wallbox can draw.

Minimise the voltage drop across the power line.
–
Use copper lines to connect the Wallbox only.
–
Make sure to obtain all approvals for the connec-
tion of the Wallbox.
–
Verify the local regulations with a qualified elec-
trician and ensure that all applicable regulations
are complied with.
–
Only use connectors and cables that comply
with local regulations, to ensure that the Wallbox
can be operated at the maximum possible cur-
rent.
–
Protect the electrical connections with fuses.
Install a line circuit breaker and a fault current
breaker with a rated current sufficient for the
maximum current occurring on the Wallbox.

Selecting the installation location

DANGER
Incorrect use of the Wallbox or failure to observe the
safety instructions may cause short circuits, electric
shocks, explosions, fire or burns.

Do not install the Wallbox in a potentially explo-
sive atmosphere.

Before installing the Wallbox, ensure that there
are no electrical lines in the area where the
mounting holes are to be drilled.

To reduce the risk of explosion - particularly in
garages - make sure that the control unit is loca-
ted at least 39 in above ground while charging.

Observe the locally applicable regulations for
electrical installations, fire protection measures,
accident prevention regulations and escape
routes.
The Porsche Wallbox is designed for installation in-
doors and outdoors. The following criteria must be
considered when selecting a suitable installation lo-
cation:

The Wallbox is intended for use in a fixed loca-
tion only and must be mounted to a sufficiently
stable wall.

Install the Wallbox in an area under a roof that is
protected from direct sunlight and precipitation
(e.g. inside a garage).
–
Select the floor and ceiling clearance in accord-
ance with national standards and regulations to
ensure comfortable use.
–
Select the distance from walls on either side so
that the vehicle charging cable can be plugged
in.
