5 OPERATING THE TOOL
5.1
Use of the tool
Before starting any operation with the tool:
WARNING!
Wear suitable cloths and gloves when operating the tool. Always check the tool before using it and make sure
the ON/OFF switch functions properly. The shear must stop when the trigger is released. Do not use the tool
in case of switch failure. Always check that the voltage of the battery matches that of the pruning shear.
When switching off the tool, the blade could need some time before stopping. Do not touch the blade while it
is moving to avoid any damage or injury risk.
•
Put the switch in ON position. After the warning tone, quickly pull the trigger two times to open the blades. The
shear will be operational after one more warning tone.
•
Do not exceed the cutting dimensions, in order to prevent the shear and the battery from possible damages. Do not
cut branches with a diameter which is larger than what indicated in the technical specifications.
•
Release the trigger if the mobile blade stops. It will automatically move back to its maximum opening position.
WARNING!
Do not force the mobile blade sideways in order not to affect its sharpening. Check the working frequency of the
shear, in order to verify its good working conditions.
5.2
Adjustment of the mobile blade opening
There are two possible adjustments of the mobile blade opening. Chack the duration of the warning tone while keeping
the trigger pulled: if it is long, it indicates the maximum blade opening; if it is short, it indicates the minimum blade
opening.
To adjust the opening, when the mobile blade is open, keep the trigger pulled for 3 seconds. A warning tone
will be heard. The blade will close and then remain closed. At this point quickly pull the trigger twice, and the blade
opening will change from maximum to minimum or vice versa
to close the blades. They will then remain closed. Then put the switch in OFF position and disconnect the tool from the
battery and pull out the cable from the battery.
5.3
Cutting
Wear suitable work clothes with protective anti-slipping shoes, long trousers, gloves and goggles
Wear protection gloves
Wear eye protection
Risk of cutting or serious injuries
•
To carry out the cut, position the blade on the branch to prune and pull the trigger.
•
When operating the tool, keep the other hand and any other part of your body at a minimum distance of 15 cm from
the blades.
•
Keep all the other people at a minimum distance of 1.5 m from the tool.
•
The mobile blade can get damaged or locked if it is forced for cutting too thick branches.
•
Do not move the tool while cutting, This can be dangerous.
•
Use the cable fixing straps to avoid risks due to cable cutting.
•
Do not use the tool in the rain or in humid environments.
•
After using the tool, put the ON/OFF switch in OFF position and disconnect the battery from the shear
Warning: In case of cutting problems check the battery charge level and the right blade sharpening.
