Verify the Fence Alignment
1. Raise the head assembly and push in the
lock pin 1 to lock the head in the raised
position.
2. Place a combination square 2 against the
fence to verify that the two sides of the
fence are aligned. The two sides of the
fence should contact the full length of the
combination square (Figure 10).
3. If either side of the fence does not contact
the combination square, contact a SKIL
Factory Service Center or Authorized SKIL
Service Station for a fence replacement.
Blade Square to Fence
1. Lower the head assembly and push in the
lock pin 1 to lock in the lower position.
2. Make sure table is in 0° miter detent and
tighten miter lock knob.
3. Place a combination square 2 against
the fence 3 and next to the blade 4 as
illustrated. Locate the square properly so
it does not contact the tooth of saw blade.
The saw blade should contact the full
length of the square (Figure 11).
4. If blade does not contact the square, follow
the fence adjustment procedure.
Fence Adjustment
a. The head assembly should remain in
lowered position.
b. Move sliding fence to proper position. (See
Sliding Fence on page 32.)
c. Using the supplied hex wrench, loosen the
four (4) hex cap screws 5 behind fence 6
(Figure 12).
d. Adjust fence until blade and the fence have
full contact with the square.
e. Tighten hex cap screws.
