3. Caution: Because the setting characteristics can vary widely across different types of nut
from various suppliers, test riveting should be carried out after defining the setting-force value.
Screwing in the blind rivet nuts to be set (see Section 4.1). Insert the blind rivet nuts into
the material being riveted using the riveting tool. If the thickness of the materials can vary,
try to choose the material with a thickness as high as possible.
Triggering a setting sequence by pressing the switch 10 until the screw-off process
begins. Then check the nut you have set: If the nut is not sufficiently deformed, the
numerical value on the display must be gradually and carefully increased. Then repeat
the setting sequence with a new nut and check once again. The blind rivet nut must form
a distinct closing. If the nut becomes too deformed (e.g. difficult to remove; nut thread
deformed), the numerical value must be gradually reduced. Then repeat the setting se-
quence with a new nut and check once again.
The setting force of the riveting tool is increased by raising the numerical value on
display 7; the setting force is reduced by lowering the numerical value.

Saving and loading the setting force

The FireBird
Pro (GE) is able to store the defined force value in the integrated program me-
®
mory and load it again wherever necessary.
The numerical values are saved as follows:
Derive and set the numerical value to be programmed (see Section 3.3)
If the S button is held down for longer than one second (> 1 sec.) the program memory is
accessed (initial value P0) in order to save a defined numerical value.
A program storage location can be set between P0 and P9 by pressing the plus or minus
button.
Press the S button again (> 1 sec.) to save the numerical value and show it on the dis-
play once more.
Previously saved numerical values can be called up as follows:
If the plus and minus buttons are pressed at the same time for longer than two seconds
(> 2 sec.), the program memory is accessed in order to load a numerical value.
You can select a previously saved numerical value between P0 and P9 by pressing the
plus or minus button.
Press the S button again (> 1 sec.) to load the selected program and display the corres-
ponding force value.
The load or save sequence can be cancelled at any time by simultaneously pressing the plus
and minus button together (> 2 sec.).
