2. Notes on safety
Proper use:
The in-vehicle equipment is generally only allowed for
the transportation of goods. Any purpose beyond that is
considered improper use.
Foreseeable misuse:
The in-vehicle equipment must not be used to transport or
carry living things!
WARNING
The maximum allowed gross weight, (vehicle + payload),
must not be exceeded. Vehicle handling characteristics
can be affected by the installation of an in-vehicle storage
system. Always ensure the payload is evenly distributed.
Avoid loading the vehicle on one side only and make sure
all loose items are secured.
Contact with caustic substances or vapors could
result in damage to your bott in-vehicle equip-
ment and must be avoided at all costs.
All anchoring fixings should be checked at regular inter-
vals, (at least every 5,000 km or 3,100 miles), or after
being subjected to extraordinary loads, (e.g. after heavy
braking).
Before using your bott vice, please refer to the vice specific
operating instructions provided.
After an accident, you must have the in-vehicle equipment
inspected by bott or an authorised service partner for your
own safety.
Please always check your bott vario products for visible
signs of damage before each vehicle movement.
