The rules for securing cargo in motor vehicles according
to DIN ISO 27955 (passenger cars, station wagons, and
multi-purpose vehicles) and DIN ISO 27956 (vans/delivery
trucks) are to be observed in accordance with § 22 and 23
of the Highway Code, as well as § 30 and 31 of the Road
Traffic Licensing Regulation.
The VDI (Association of German Engineers) 2700 sheet 16
and the DGUV (German Social Accident Insurance) Rule 70
contain important information on their implementation.
At least two vent openings (1x on
the vehicle floor, 1x near the ceiling,
diagonal from each other) must be
provided within the enclosed vehicles
when transporting gas cylinders.
The vent openings must be free and
opened, and may not be covered.
Such venting elements with 100 cm²
cross section as well as with reduced
cross section and smaller installation opening can be ob-
tained from bott as a branchspecific solution.
The ceiling and floor vents with reduced cross section were
inspected by DEKRA and comply with the specifications for
transportation of gas cylinders as per ADR / GGVSEB / RSEB
in enclosed vehicles.
During the corresponding practical test in collaboration
with DEKRA, it was proven that the venting elements with
reduced, round cross sections do not have any adverse
effect on the ventilation of the interior as opposed to larger
vent openings with a cross section of 100 cm².
In principle, the specifications for transportation of gas
cylinders in enclosed vehicles as per information sheet
DVS 02 11 (Deutscher Verband für Schweißtechnik e.V) as
well as information sheet for safe conveyance of liquefied
gas bottles DGUV 210-001 must be observed.
