3.5 Residual risk
Even under compliance with all safety provisions, one risk described below remains
when operating the MaxiFil.
All persons working on and with the MaxiFil must be aware of these residual risks
and follow the instructions that prevent these residual risks from causing accidents or
damages.
During set-up and preparation work, it may be necessary to dismantle on-site
equipment. This creates various residual risks and risk potentials, which the operator
must be aware of.
WARNING
Severe health damage of the respiratory organs and respiratory
tract is possible - wear respiratory protection. E.g.
KEMPER autoflow XP or a Class FFP2 breathing filter mask of
class FFP2 as per EN 149.
Skin contact with welding fumes etc. may lead to skin irritations if
the person is sensitive - wear protective clothing.
Before starting welding work make sure that the extraction arm
and extraction hood are set correctly, that the filter element is
undamaged and that the unit is in operation!
When changing the filter element, skin may get into contact with
discharged dusts and some dust particles may be stirred up by
this work. Therefore, wear breathing protection and protective
clothing.
Glow nests in the filter element can lead to a smoldering fire and
release of harmful/toxic fumes - switch off filter device, close
throttle valve in extraction hood, let the device cool down in a
controlled manner; if necessary, extinguish the flames, secure
danger area and inform responsible person immediately.
Dust can get into the environment due to leaks at the filter
element. Remove any leaks immediately and clean the
contaminated area; wear respiratory protection and protective
clothing.
