Operating the Spring Balancers
For proper and safe operation, be sure to observe also the information provided in the "Safety – Accident Preventi-
on" section, page 21.
Versions without ratchet lock (7211 and 7221)
The suspended tool is drawn downwards for use – if you let it go, it will automatically return to its starting position.
Versions with ratchet lock (7212 and 7222)
• The ratchet lock (automatic cable retraction stop mechanism) should never be used for

load replacement. Working load replacements must always be performed when the cable
is in fully retracted position!
After pulling the hooked tool downwards, it remains suspended in the chosen position. To move it back into its star-
ting position, pull the tool abruptly downwards a little, then push it quickly upwards. Speed is important because
slow movements cause the ratchet lock to engage.
MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION
ATTENTION !
• If damage or corrosion is detected, withdraw the spring balancer from service at once,
!
mark it accordingly and inform your superior or the responsible person.
• We recommend servicing all moving parts and friction points with non-corrosive grease.
Daily visual inspection for corrosion or damage is required for:
• wire cable
• safety suspension (2)
• "anti-crash" safety device (4)
The spring balancer, and in particular the cable, must be checked periodically, but at
least once a year, for potential damage by a competent person (ISO 4309). If damage
is found, the balancer must be withdrawn from service immediately!
DISPOSAL
• When the product is disposed of at the end of its life cycle, be sure to observe all directi-
ves/regulations in force at the time regarding the handling of metals, plastics, electrical
and electronic components, greases, oils, etc.
• Should the spring balancer need to be disassembled, be sure to have such work perfor-
med only by adequately trained and instructed specialists.
