MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

7.1 PERIODICAL MAINTENANCE

To ensure a consistent performance over time, it is necessary to carry out a minimum of maintenance:
-
Clean the cover of each element at least once a year (or more often in the event of exposure to
soiling)
-
Repeat the final tests (once a year)
7.2 MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS FOR USERS OF THE MONITORING SYSTEM
You have just acquired a high peripheral detection system; the manufacturer has taken great care when
making it and preparing its installation. The system will give you full satisfaction provided you comply
with the operating instructions set out below.
7.2.1
Vegetation
The alignment between 2 beacons must be kept clear, without any three branches crossing the beams, and
the grass must be mown regularly.
In practical terms, checks are made by looking from behing the column, with the eyes at the level of the
lower section of the column; the base of the opposite column must be clearly visible. If his is not the case,
it is necessary to mow the grass.
The same visual method can be used to check that wehn looking over the top of a column,
the top of the opposite column can be seen clearly, without the interposition of any
branches.
We must insist on the fact of always checking the clean state of the ground by looking
alonge the exact line of sight between 2 columns, to avoid all errors of parallax (see the
drawing) and thus accurately assess the reality of any obstacles present.
Pay particular attention to any branches too close to the field of detetction. When weighed
down by rain (or snow), branches can temporarily disturb operation of the detection system
by entering the field of the infrared beam and lead to false alarms.
Attention:uf the ground has been turned over recently, high grass or plants (such as
ragweed) can grow very fast.
7.2.2.
Presence of animals
Our infrared alarms are equipped with a specific analysis system for non-detection of birds, many of
which often come to drink from our pools. Nonetheless, we must draw your attention to the possible
presence of dogs, cats or other animals that could move through the infrared beams and hence trigger
false alarms. It may thus be necesssary to install a barrier to prevent access for them.
7.2.3.
Cleanness of the covers
The infrared covers must be kept clean, as otherwise there could be problems concerning transmission
and reception of the infrared beams, which could trigger unwanted alarms. There is an increased risk of
soiling if the ground has been turned over recently (projection of earth during storms and windy weather).
Gardeners must be made aware of the risk that freshly mown grass could cling to the base of the covers
during mowing and hece block them off. It is also necessary to avoid hitting or running into the columns
during maintenance work. The use of hihg-pressure water cleaners is prohibited.
7.2.4 Cleaning the covers
Use soft cloths and cleaning products on the windows, which have been given antistatic properties,
amongst other things. There is no set cleaning frequency; it depends on the conditions of soiling. As a
rough guide, we recommend cleaning the outside three times a year and cleaning the inside once a year.
All inside cleaning must be carried out by a maintenance technician, as it is necessary to remove the cover
of the beacon.
