These instructions for use provide important information on the application of
the 50C1 Necky Optima, 50C20 Necky Color and 50C30 Necky Color Forte
cervical orthoses.

2 Intended use

2.1 Indications for use
The orthosis is intended exclusively for orthotic fittings of the cervical spine
and exclusively for contact with intact skin.
The orthosis must be used in accordance with the indications.
2.2 Indications
• Cervical syndrome
• Hypermobility of the cervical spine
• Rheumatic complaints of the cervical spine
• Excessive strain on the neck muscles
• Whiplash trauma of the cervical spine
• Degenerative changes of the cervical spine
Indications must be determined by the physician.
2.3 Contraindications
2.3.1 Absolute Contraindications
Not known.
2.3.2 Relative Contraindications
Consult the physician if any of the following occur: skin diseases/injuries,
inflammation, raised scars with swelling, reddening, and warming in the
area where the orthosis is fitted, tumours, lymphatic congestion and dysaes­
thesia in the cervical spine.
2.4 Effects
The orthosis supports and warms the cervical spine.
