E. BEFORE EVERY JOURNEY

3. INSPECTING THE VISOR AND SUN VISOR

Check that the visor and sun visor mechanisms are working properly. Check
visor and sun visor for mechanical damage and for dirt that may interfere with
your vision when riding. Damage should be rectified and any dirt or marks
removed each time before you ride.
Warning:
Take care to ensure that the visor and sun visor are always in fault-
free condition. Scratched and/or dirty visors or sun visors can severely
compromise visibility and are not roadworthy. Clean or replace these
immediately to ensure your safety.
Warning:
If visibility becomes poor, stop riding.

F. FOR YOUR SAFETY

1. INSPECTING THE HELMET

Motorcycling involves specific health risks and hazards for the rider and
passenger. Wearing a helmet can reduce these risks and hazards but
cannot eliminate them. There can be no definitive statement about the
exact level of protection afforded by a helmet in an accident. The most
reliable basis for your own safety is a safe riding style adapted to the
road and weather conditions.
To ensure adequate protection, the helmet must fit snugly and be
securely fastened.
Fasten the chin strap before every ride and check that the locking
mechanism and chin strap are properly seated!
Never ride with an open or incorrectly adjusted chin strap! The strap
must not give or be slack when pulled. The lock is only properly
engaged when the chin strap has no slack.
Following a fall or accident or other forceful impact on the helmet, the
helmet's full protective capacity can no longer be guaranteed. As with
the crumple zone of a car, the impact energy of a collision is absorbed
by the complete or partial destruction of the outer and/or inner shell
structure of the helmet. Because of the design of the helmet, such
damage is often not visible to the naked eye. This helmet is designed to
absorb the effect of only one impact. The helmet must therefore always
be replaced after any fall, accident or other exposure to high forces. For
safety reasons, the old helmet should be rendered unusable.
The protection mechanism of the helmet described above can cause
small cracks in the shell even if the helmet is dropped from a height of
only one meter or less.
No helmet offers protection against all possible impacts. This helmet has
been specifically designed for use when motorcycling. It is not suitable
for any other purpose.
