2.8.3. Cleaning the inside of the chimney and flue
smoke chamber and the exhaust gas fireplace. They are dirtier or less depending on the fuel
used, more or less slow progress of combustion, etc.. It is necessary to clean the chimney at
least once per season. To access the flue from the inside, it is necessary to remove the
deflector. A specialist is required to periodically review these elements.
2.8.4. Painting. The paint that covers the interior and exterior of the appliance, is designed to
withstand temperatures of to 600 ºC. The appliance finish will cure when first used. It may give
off unpleasant odours during the first few times of use. After few uses this smell will disappear
leaving only the pleasant smell of burning wood. It is possible that in some parts of the interior
of the chimney, after a period of use, may loosen the painted finish, due to corrosive liquids,
poor fuel quality or the use of unauthorised fuel type, etc. In this case it will be necessary to
repaint all the damages areas.
2.9.
In case of fire. No combustible material must be placed within 1000 mm of the
appliance. Take care when children or elderly people are around. In case of a chimney fire:
Evacuate the building, close all the air controls to shut down the appliance, call the fire brigade.
2.10. Operating in adverse weather. In certain weather conditions the appliance may not
operate correctly. In these circumstances close the appliance down.
2.11. Modification of the appliance. Modifications must be approved in writing by Rocal SA. It
is also compulsory to use parts recommended by Rocal SA.
