The lanyard is fitted with snap hooks at both ends. The load-bearing section of the lanyard
that is carrying the user is called the "rescue lanyard". The opposite free section of the
lanyard is called the "lanyard feed".
In the event of repeated descents, so-called "shuttle descent", see below, the lanyards
change function and name alternately.
