tiPs: in all situations where the evacuee is unconscious or otherwise incapaci-
tated, it is recommended to use the Jumar grip (or foot loop), to create
extra lift assistance and avoid the lanyard slipping in the equipment. if
there is no Jumar grip it is possible to make the same manoeuvre by using
a loop (that makes a foot loop) as shown in fig 12.
The winch function is self-lock-
ing, allowing the winch handle
to be released without the load
unintentionally being lowered!
5. Reconnect rEsq dd™ to automatic lanyard arrestor by laying over an extra
turn around the lanyard housing with the lanyard feed, hold the load on the
lanyard feed and offload the winch by winching the load down.
tiPs: if more friction is required
in, for example, cases of
tight spaces or obstacles,
lay an extra turn around the
lanyard housing.
