Replacing Belts
Checkthe conditionof bothauger beltand drivebelt every25 hours
of snow throweroperation,Replaceif eithershowssigns of wearand
tear,To removeand replaceeithertheauger beltor the drivebelt,
follow the stepsbelowand then proceedto the specificstepslisted
underrespectivesub=headings.
1. Removebelt coverby removingthe two selfqappingscrewsthat
secure it to the snowthrowerhousing.See Figure18.
2. Drainthe gasolinefrom the snowthrower,or placea pieceof
plasticunder the gascap. Carefullytip the snowthrowerup and
forward,so that it restson the housing.Removetheself4apping
screwsfrom the framecoverunderneaththesnow throwerand
movethe frame coveraway.See Figure19.
Auger Belt
1. Roll auger beltoff thepulleyas shownin Figure20.
2. a. Turnthe shoulderscrewa halfa turn and slide it out of the
mountingbracket.See Figure21.
b. Unhookspringto releasetensionon the augerbelt. See Figure
21.
3. Removeold beltand replacewith newbeltwrappingit aroundthe
auger pulley.See Figure22.
4. Reqnsertshoulderscrew intothe mountingbracketand tightento
secure,
5. Wrapauger belt behindthe idler.Reattachthe springto the bolt
whereit was earlier secured.
6. Reqnstallframe coverand flip the snowthrowerback to theoperat_
ing position.
7. Reqnstallauger beltaroundthe engine pulley.
8. Reqnstallbeltcoverwith the selfqappingscrewsremovedearlier.
