Adjustments
WARNING:Never attempt to clean chute or make
any adjustments whileengine is running.
Shift Cable
If the full rangeof speeds (forwardand reverse)cannotbe achieved,
referto thefigureto the left and adiustthe shiftcable as follows:
1, Placethe shift leverin the fastest forwardspeedposition,
2, Loosenthe hex nuton the shift cableindexbracket,See Figure25,
3, Pivot thebracketdownward to take up slackin thecable,
4, Retightenthe hexnut,
5, Checkfor correctadiustment b eforeoperatingthesnow thrower,
Chute Contro_
Once a seasonor every25 hoursof operation,whicheveris earlier,
checkwhetherthe four-waychutecontroFMcableshaveslackened,If
the chute doesnot rotatefully or its pitch cannotbe movedup or down,
the chute controlcableswill haveto be adiusted,
Toadiust thesecables,proceedas follows:
1, Totightencable, loosenthetop nut and tightenthe bottomnuton
the cable,
2, Adiust equallyon bothsides by workingon bothcables,See Figure
26,
