Finat Adjustments
After settingup yoursnowthrower,checkthe adiustmentsas
instructedbelowand makeany finaladiustmentsnecessarybefore
operatingthe unit,
Auger Contro_ Test
WARNING: Perform the Auger ControJ Test
before operating the snow thrower for the
first time and at the start of each winter
season. Failure to comply with these adjust-
ment instructions may cause damage to the
unit.
1, Tocheckthe adiustment o f the augercontrol,pushforwardthe left
handcontrol untilthe rubberbumperis compressed, T hereshould
be slack in the cable,
2, Releasethe control The cableshouldbe straight,Makecertain you
candepressthe augercontrolagainstthe left handlecompletely,
WARNING: Do not over-tighten the cable.
Over-tightening may prevent the auger from
disengaging and compromise the safety of
the snow thrower.
3, Jna wellwentilatedarea,startthe snow throwerengineas
instructedin the Operationsection,Makesurethe throttleis set in
the FASTposition,
4, Whilestandingin theoperator'sposition(behindthe snowthrower)
engagethe auger,
5, Allowthe auger to remainengagedfor approximately ten (10)
secondsbeforereleasingthe augercontrol Repeatthis several
times,
6, With the enginerunningin the FASTpositionand the augercontrol
in the disengaged"up"position,walk to the front of the machine,
Confirmthatthe auger hascompletelystoppedrotatingand shows
NO signsof motion,
IMPORTANT: I f the augershowsANYsigns of rotating,immediately
returnto the operator'spositionand shut off the engine,Wait for all
movingparts to stop beforereadiusfing the augercontrol cable,
7, To readiustthe controlcable, loosenthe uppertap screwon the
auger cablebracket,
8, Positionthe bracketupwardto providemoreslack(or downwardto
increasecabletension),See Figure9,
9, Retightenthe uppertap screw,
10,RepeatAugerControlTestto verify properadiustmenthas been
achieved,
Drive Controm & Shift Lever
1, Tocheck theadiustmentof the drivecontroland shift lever,tip the
snow throwerforwardso that it restson the auger housing,
2, Move theshift leverall theway forwardto the sixth (6) position,
3, With the drivecontrol released,spinthe snowthrowerwheels
by hand,The wheelsshouldturn; however, y ou mayfeel some
resistance,
4, Engagedrivecontrol The wheelsshouldno longer turn,
5, Now releasethe drivecontroland spin wheelsagain,
6, Move theshift leverback to the fastreversepositionand thenall
the way forwardagain,
