Maintenance, service and spare parts
Before performing any maintenance operations on the electric pump, make sure that the motor is
voltage-free.
Maintenance operations must be performed by skilled and qualified personnel only. Use suitable
equipment and protection devices. Observe the accident prevention regulations in force. If you need to
drain the pump, make sure that the drained liquid does not cause damage or injuries.
Wait for the motor to cool down before touching it.
7.1

Routine maintenance

The pump requires a few simple routine maintenance tasks to be performed on a regular basis.
After the first 20 hours of operation
Every 6 months or 500 hours of operation
Once a year or when the oil is dirty
At least once a year

protections (relays, fuses,...), oil leaks, etc.
7.2

Extraordinary maintenance

Extraordinary maintenance may be necessary in order to clean the liquid end or replace the mechanical seal and other worn
parts.
7.2.1
Checking the oil level
The oil chamber may have one or more plugs, depending on the pump model.
7.2.1.1
Version with two plugs (socket head)
Place the pump in the horizontal position and remove the fill and air plugs. The oil level is correct when it is below the fill plug. It
can be seen by rotating the pump slightly. If the oil level is too low, contact our Sales and Service Department. For further

7.2.1.2
Version with three plugs (socket head)
Place the pump in the horizontal position and remove only the fill and air plugs. The oil level is correct when it is below the fill

7.2.1.3
Version with one plug (hex head)
Place the pump in the vertical position making sure it cannot overturn. Remove the plug. The oil level is correct when it is up to
the bottom edge of the fill plug hole. If the oil level is too low, contact our Sales and Service Department. For further

7.2.2
Checking the cable gland for the power supply cable/s
There may be one or more cable glands with hex head or with clamp and socket head screws, depending on the pump model.
7.2.2.1
Hex-head version
Use a suitable wrench to tighten the cable gland by 1/6 of a turn (clockwise).
7.2.2.2
Version with clamp and socket-head screws

7.2.3
Checking the rotation of the impeller
Using a T wrench, make sure that the impeller rotates freely without excessive effort; remove the suction elbow, if present.

Checking the electric motor
If you have any doubts regarding the motor conditions, measure the isolation resistance to ground, which must exceed 1
Megaohm (MΩ). If you believe that there may be water inside the motor, please contact our Sales and Service Department.
