CHAPTER 3.
START-UP. ADJUSTMENT AND OPERATION CONTROLS.
3.1 START-UP. PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS.
In principle, the system must be connected as indicated in the previous chapter and before starting the
system up definitely, the following steps must be taken (See Fig. 5/6):
1) 1) 1) 1) Make sure the mains voltage is the same as that pre-selected in the machine (Fig. 5).
2) 2) 2) 2) Connect supply cable AB to the relative three-phase outlet.
3) 3) 3) 3) Check that the gas bottle is well protected by the bottle-holder system, and above all, check that the safety
chain is properly placed.
4) 4) 4) 4) Install the pressure-reducing valve and connect gas hose checking that there are no leakages, throughout
the whole circuit.
5) 5) 5) 5) Fit the relative adapter onto the wire reel and fit this assembly into the wire reel support axle. Please
carefully read the wire-feed unit instructions manual.
6) 6) 6) 6) Depending on the wire diameter, fit the groove of the correct driving roller.
7) 7) 7) 7) Fit the wire into the driving system. Do not force the wire pressure handle, as if this is too tight, the motor
remains on overload and does not reach the maximum speed, and if the handle is too slack, the wire could
slip. Once the wire has been fitted, we can then hook up the MIG/MAG torch.
8) 8) 8) 8) Fit earth connector into earth tap. After this you can connect the equipment with the on switch to start the
welding process. The regulation level of the welding voltage will be determined according to table 4.
GROUNDING AND REACTANCE TAPPING.
Depending on the job to be carried out we will connect the earth to one of the taps. Normally we will use a
high tapping when the part thickness requires this (See Fig. 7). However, the user himself must determine the
correct tap for each type of job.
MIG WELDING
HIGH THICKNESS
The multi-tap reactance possessed by these machines enables the degree of inertia of the power source to
be adjusted to the sudden changes in current. This results in the possibility of reducing the degree of
projections released in the welding operation.
START-UP OF THE COOLING MODULE.
st
1
. FILL UP THE COOLING TANK WITH HOSE CONNECTED (S', T', K', L').
We recommend using: 75% DISTILLED WATER + 25% ALCOHOL. Fill the tank within the indicated limits.
Do not use drinking water as cooling liquid.
nd
2
. PURGING THE AIR.
In order to eliminate any air on the inside of the cooling circuit. Every time the connection extension
coolant liquid connection tubes are connected, the air must be purged as indicated in figure 8 . If there is
air in the cooling circuit the pump will not supply water to the circuit.
