Connection to Ex e PIR 7000 (EAC 0000) terminal box
The Ex e PIR 7000 terminal box is designed to be connected to a Dräger PIR 7000 / Dräger
PIR 7200 gas transmitter with M25 threaded connection (IDS 011x). The cable diameter
can be 7 to 12 mm. Conductors with max. 2.5 mm
The tightening torque for the terminal screws is at least 0.6 Nm. The cover screws must be
tightened with a minimum torque of 1.5 Nm.
Connection to Ex d PIR 7000 junction box
The Ex d PIR 7000 junction box is designed to be connected to the Dräger PIR 7000 / Dräger
PIR 7200 gas transmitter with 3/4" NPT threaded connection (IDS 010x). Conductors with max.

may be connected. The threaded cover must be tightened with a torque
of at least 5 Nm, and the locking screw must be tightened with a torque of at least 1 Nm.

connection set
Observe the installation instructions for the applicable accessories.
– All screw connections must be locked to prevent loosening.
Electrical installation
During installation, all wiring must conform to the relevant national regulations relating to the
installation of electrical equipment and where applicable the regulations for installation in
explosion hazardous areas. In case of any doubt, obtain the relevant information from the
appropriate official body before carrying out the installation.
Equipment with a measuring function for explosion protection conforming to Directive 94/9/
EC, Annex II, 1.5.5 to 1.5.7 must be operated using a power network that does not transfer
the primary-side voltage interruptions of up to 10 ms in duration to the secondary side.
If the plug connector of the gas transmitter (supplied with some types) is not required, it must
be removed before the electrical installation.
Cut the conductors immediately before the plug connector with a suitable tool and strip the ends.
– Installation with 3-core or multi-core wires. Recommendation: shielded wire, shield braiding
with coverage 80 %. Shield connection: recommended on central unit:
To ensure correct operation of the gas transmitter, the impedance of the 4 to 20 mA signal
loop must not exceed 500 ohms. Depending on the operating voltage and the application
(e.g. HART mode), a minimum impedance of 230 ohms must be maintained. The conductors
in the power supply must have a sufficiently low resistance so that the correct supply voltage
at the gas transmitter is guaranteed.
Do not supply the equipment with power before the wiring has been completed and tested.
Electrically connect the gas transmitter to earth.
Connect gas transmitter.

WARNING
NOTICE
WARNING
Colour-code of connection conductor to gas transmitter:
red
= + (DC power supply: 9 to 30 V DC or 13 to 30 V DC with HART mode; power
consumption: max. 7 W)
black
= – (common reference potential)
brown
= 4 to 20 mA and HART signal output
white
= Serial port
green/yellow = Potential equalisation
Check the electrical installation to ensure that all conductors are correctly connected.
Do not shorten the white connection conductor if the serial port is not used unless additional
terminals are available in the terminal box.
Mechanically fasten the connection conductor inside the terminal box.
If the wiring has been installed in a pipe:
cast protection pipe seals and allow to harden.
