Operation
Starting up
On delivery the gas transmitter is set in accordance with Table "Configuration of the gas
transmitter" on page 23 or as specified by the customer in the order. See the label on the
device for the configuration.
The relevant configuration parameters (see Table "Configuration of the gas transmitter" on
page 23) must be correctly entered on the configuration label. In combination with a Dräger
Polytron 57x0 / 87x0 Dräger recommends covering the configuration label with the included
label (order no. 68 13 286).
The device is factory-calibrated and ready for immediate operation after the electrical installation.
Deactivate the alarm activation of the central device to avoid false alarms.
Connect the system to the power supply. The gas transmitter runs an internal self-test,
during which the status lights flash alternately. The green status light is steady and the
yellow light flashes during the following start-up phase (warm-up time). The maintenance
signal is output at the current interface. After 1 minute operation starts automatically with
the configuration set up on delivery.
Check zero and span.
Check signal transmission to the central device and alarm activation.
Reactivate the alarm activation to restore the system to its normal operating state.
Safety Integrity Level
– The gas transmitter is suitable for operation in SIL 2 applications.
For applications with Safety Integrity Level (SIL), observe the Safety Manual (90 33 034).
