MVP Metering Cartridges
IF IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO REMOVE CARTRIDGE TO INSTALL FITTING, SKIP
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. If filter and lower valve cartridge have been removed from fitting, replace them by inserting filter
first.
2. If gasket has been removed from actuator assembly, replace it by inserting into bottom of
actuator assembly.
3. Assemble actuator assembly to body and tighten to 15-25 FT. LB. torque.
4. Assemble handle and check timing, adjust if necessary (see below).
5. Tighten set screw with a 3/32 allen wrench.
6. If index button is included, snap into handle.
ADJUSTMENT OF TIMING
(10) SECONDS RUNNING TIME IS REQUIRED TO MEET AMERICAN DISABILITY ACT
(ADA) REGULATIONS. TO ADJUST TIMING FOLLOW THESE PROCEDURES:
1. Purge cartridge of air by pushing completely open 4-8 times rapidly, then check timing cycle.
2. Remove handle with a 3/32 allen wrench.
3. Use a standard pair of pliers (other tools may damage the adjustment nut) to change height of
adjustment nut (pictured) by 1/4 turn only. Turn adjustment nut clockwise to increase time.
4. Replace handle and time flow. NOTE: TIMING MUST BE CHECKED WITH HANDLE IN PLACE.
5. If more adjustment is needed follow steps 3 and 4 until timing is right.
6. Attach handle and tighten set screw. If index button is included, snap into handle.
NOTE: Some new installations may produce a slight closing noise. This is normally the result of
air trapped in the cartridge and the noise will dissipate over time.
