fit the wiring harness, see electronic parts catalogue.
Work to be carried out, general:
1. Disconnect the earth cable from the battery.
2. Mount the 14-core wiring harness.
3. Coding with licence protection.
4. Commissioning; Function test.
The installation instructions must be read completely before starting work.
The electrical installation kit must only be installed by qualified specialists.
Follow the guidelines in the current vehicle repair manual when performing installation work
As towing a trailer places greater demands on the engine cooling, the cooling system is upgraded –
where technically necessary – during the factory fitting of a trailer hitch. This is carried out by the
installation of a more powerful and / or a second radiator fan.
With retrofitted towing hitches – where technically necessary – the cooling system power must be
increased as long as this has not already been carried out in the factory.
The engine cooling parts required for towing hitch operation specified in the original parts catalogues
must be utilised during the conversion. In addition, the installation instructions from the corresponding
vehicle repair manuals as well as the respective data sheets must also be followed.
