* - (possibly): For the contacting of the searchlight for the activating button, the grey / blue
wire on the vehicle that leads to the neighbouring luggage compartment light and that receives
the positive light signal must be cut through approx. 10 cm before the light and approx. 5 mm
stripped from both wire ends.
Also strip approx. 5 mm from the loose grey / blue wire ends of the 14-wire wiring harness and then
use the butt connector 000.979.941 from the cable kit repair case VAS1978 and a crimping tool to
connect these three wire ends so that they are able to conduct electricity.
Then seal the butt connector using a hot air blower. The wiring must be secured so that it does not
rattle.
In the event that the wiring and the signal wire assignment on the vehicle do not unequivocally
coincide, comparison with the current flow diagram may be necessary. Generally however, the
following applies:
"Signal assignment comes before signal colour".
We reserve the right to correct typing errors or make alterations.
Route all wiring harnesses of the installation kit along existing vehicle wiring harnesses, secure with
the supplied cable ties and / or insert in the existing cable runs.
Refit all trim parts and any parts removed.
Reconnect the earth wire to the battery.
