Depending on the equipment, there are two installation versions for the supplied towing hitch
activating button:
(1) At the rear right in the technical cluster of the side trim, no switch is installed in vehicles
without adaptive/air suspension. Here, a compatible switch for operating the towing hitch
without adaptive/air suspension incl. the compatible connector housing must be ordered
from the original parts catalogue (ETKA).
The wire ends of the 14-wire wiring harness must then be inserted into the new connector
housing according to the specified chamber assignment (see Table 2 below) and click into
place.
(2) A switch for the adaptive suspension is installed at the rear right in the technical cluster of the
side trim. Here, a compatible switch for operating the towing hitch including adaptive
suspension must also be ordered from the original parts catalogue (ETKA).
ehe wire ends of the 14-wire wiring harness must then be inserted into the vehicle's existing
connector housing according to the specified chamber assignment (see Table 2 below) and
click into place. * It should be noted that then the pin six for the search lighting already
is occupied. The cable gray / blue provided on the cable set for this purpose then remains
unused and must be tied back and isolated without rattling.
Insert the socket contacts of the remaining yellow/blue, violet/black, brown, red/white, grey/blue
and blue/white wire ends of the 14-wire wiring harness (see Table 2) into the new or existing
connector housing of the swivellable towing hitch switch group (see Fig. 2) as follows and click into
place:
