• High-level disinfection has not been validated as a terminal process for
the Capsule Extruder 2.
• Steam autoclaving sterilization is appropriate and recommended for
the Capsule Extruder 2.
• Ultrasonic cleaning has not been validated.
• Do not allow the Capsule Extruder 2 to exceed 137 °C.
• The capsule with contained material is intended for single use only. Do
not attempt to reprocess and/or re-use.
• Repeated reprocessing has minimum effect on these instruments. End
of life is normally determined by wear and damage due to use.
• The Capsule Extruder 2 can be subjected to the manual cleaning
process up to 1000 times.
• The Capsule Extruder 2 can be subjected to the automated washer/
disinfector process up to 200 times.
• The Capsule Extruder 2 can be subjected to the steam autoclave
sterilization process up to 1000 times.
• Cold liquid immersion disinfection/sterilization, chemical vapor ster-
ilization, and dry heat sterilization methods have not been tested or
validated for efficacy and are not recommended for use.
1. Use a new, clean pair of examination gloves.
2. Right after use, remove capsule from the Capsule Extruder 2 and
discard capsule according to local regulations.
3. Clean Capsule Extruder 2 using a soft brush and running cold tap
water.
4. It is recommended that the device be reprocessed as soon as is
reasonably practical following use.
5. Start reprocessing within 1 hour after use.
Do not attempt to disassemble.
Process the Capsule Extruder 2 fully assembled.
