Servicing the Air Filter
Service Interval: Before each use or daily
Every 25 hours—Clean the foam pre-cleaner
(more frequently in dusty conditions).
Every 300 hours—Replace the paper air filter
(more frequently in dusty conditions).
Important:
Do not operate the engine without
the air filter assembly; extreme engine damage
will occur.
1.
Shut off the engine and wait for all moving parts
to stop.
2.
Disconnect the wire from the spark plug.
3.
Remove the cover and clean it thoroughly
(Figure
27).

Remove the foam pre-filter and paper filter
(Figure
27).
5.
Remove the foam pre-filter from the paper filter
(Figure
27), and replace the paper filter if it is
excessively dirty.
Important:
Do not try to clean a paper filter.
6.
Wash the foam pre-cleaner with a mild detergent
and water, then blot it dry.
Note:
Do not add oil to the foam pre-cleaner.
7.
Install the foam pre-cleaner onto the paper filter.
8.
Install the air-filter assembly.
9.
Install the cover.

3. Air-filter base
Changing the Engine Oil
Service Interval: After the first 5 hours—Change the
engine oil without the oil filter.
Every 50 hours—Change the engine oil (more
often in dusty conditions).
Note:
Run the engine a few minutes before changing
the oil to warm it. Warm oil flows better and carries
more contaminants.
Engine oil capacity: With oil filter: 0.85 L (29 oz);
without oil filter: 0.65 L (22 oz)
Oil viscosity: SAE 30 or SAE 10W-30 detergent oil
API service classification: SJ or higher
